On september 30, 2020 we took part in We Make Events Australia. Where we stand as an industry united to try and get our voice heard. We are proud of the industry we are in and the amazing people we work with and the things we can create.
Normally we are first in, last out. Now in these crazy times we are the first out, last in. Many of us have not had an event since March, with no sign of things returning to normal until well into 2021.
Along with our sisters and brothers in the entertainment industry across the world we are facing a tough time and feeling the full brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic along with trying to get our industry’s voice heard.
Dont let the light go down on the rooms, the events and the people we love…
We lit Live at the Bundy one of our favourite local venues and gigs.
On the 15th of April we took part in the #lightuniteaus project undertaken by production companies over australia, who were all paying their respects to all the frontline medial workers sugging it out during the COVID-19 pandemic that is sweeping the world. While we couldt stray far from home we took the oportnity to shine some light over Bairnsdale with a display from Benn’s garage. With out their amazing work this could go on for literally ever. So thankyou from the bottom of our heart. Please check out the amazing work of all parties by checking out #lightuniteaus on Instagram and by having a look at ALIA’s Facebook page and their shared posts.

Another step forward taking our audio department onward and upward, we have just added a DiGiCo SD9 and D-Racks to our hire stock, with an impressive I/O count (96/48), familiar work surface and most importantly a great sound, the Red Snapper was a clear choice giving so much versatility and power in such a small package. With redundant power supplies in both the console and the stage racks giving you that extra piece of mind. The SD9 coupled with our DiGiGrid MGB opens up the world of possibilities including multitrack recording into your favourite DAW and Virtual Soundchecks, Waves and the list goes on.
With the ever increasing improvements in LED technology we decided it was high time to bring some LED spots to our hire department. With their impressive feature set in such a compact size, the Ayrton Ghibli was a clearchoice featuring full curtaining framing, animation, fixed and static gobo wheels and cmy colour mixing engine and a CRI of greater than 90, this ticked all the boxes for what we are looking for in a fixture. Punch and massive looks for musical theatre and rock’n’roll and framing and great colour reproduction for our theatre productions, a true all-rounder.
Clearcom has long been a name synonymous in event and production comms, we would like to welcome Freespeak II bases, antennas and beltpacks to our comms department to help keep you connected and on the move.
Dead Puppet Society’s newest work Ishmael makes it world premier at Brisbane Festival this year, we have had the privelage to work hand in hand with the creative team from the outset to create a unique immersive world that pushes the bounderies between what you would expect from a theatre show, and adding cinematic elements delivered live.
